About the Beans : Ethiopia - Refisa

The Refisa washing station is a well-known and very active station founded in 2019. The station collects cherries from over 550 growers that bring their coffees by donkey or horse.
 
When the cherries arrive at the station, they ferment in the shade for 45 to 60 hours. They are then washed to remove the mucilage.
The coffee is then dried on a raised beds, in layers of 5 to 10 cm, for 7 to 10 days depending on temperatures.
 
With a total of 200 drying beds, the Refisa station ensures that each batch of coffee has enough space and time to dry properly.  
Refisa provides growers with access to a hospital and a school improving the livelihood in a fairly remote area.
