About the Beans : Mexico - Finca Hamburgo - Direct Trade

In 1888, Arthur Edelmann accepted the invitation of the Mexican government to create jobs in the Soconusco area. He built the Finca Hamburgo, which has remained in the family ever since.

Today the farm is run by Tomas Edelman Blass (4th generation) and his son Tomas Bruno Edelmann Toriello (5th generation), who together produce the finest coffees with fresh citrus tones in washed preparation.

Over the past few years, the two have cultivated a wide range of the rarest coffee varieties, creating a high degree of biodiversity with a wide variety of shade trees.

We're very excited to be working alongside this farm for a third year in a row, after Ori reached out to Tomas last year who he had been on a coffee roasting course with several years ago.

Delicious - one of my favourites.

Only my third variety from MB. I found it needed a little more grounds per cup compared to say the Peru Chingama. The fruity first contact is followed by what I'd describe as a hint of liquorice. The long finish strangely had a hint of burning (or smoke?).
(Disclaimer: I enjoy my espresso sweetened with sugar, which might bring out different flavour aspects in the cup.)

Well, I’ve had a few orders with missing bean coffee and the experience is very good. The latest batch of Mexican Finca Hamburgo makes a right royal coffee with distinct moscovado nutty caramel flavours. Really very good, and its delivered quickly to boot.
So thank you missing bean!!

Whenever a bean I've particularly enjoyed disappears from your list, I try another bean. Mexico Finca Hamburgo is now definitely another favourite.

While I have an espresso machine the star of the show for me was the Mexican Finca Hamburgo made in a V60. Exceptionally low bitterness and a deep brown sugar/ nutty falvour made this thoroughly enjoyable.
