On Saturday 18th April, we had the pleasure of welcoming John Buckman, founder of Decent Espresso Machines, to our Roastery on Magdalen Road for an evening dedicated to the art and science of home espresso.
The event brought together John and a group of local Decent Espresso machine owners for a hands-on masterclass covering everything from dialling in your espresso to maintaining the machinery that makes it all possible.
Attendees got to see the machines in action up close, pick up practical tips and tricks straight from the people who know them best, and get their questions answered by an expert. Whether it was shot timing, pressure profiling, or simply keeping everything running smoothly, there was plenty to take away.
Each guest also went home with a bag of Missing Bean espresso roast coffee, ready to put their new knowledge to good use.
A huge thank you to John and all the local enthusiasts who gave up their Saturday evening to share their passion and expertise. It was a real treat for the coffee geeks among us, and a reminder of just how brilliant this community is.
