This month, we celebrated a big milestone: Missing Bean Botley turned five! To mark the occasion, we ran a full birthday week, kicking things off with a coffee and pastry for £5 for anyone popping in.
The celebrations built all week, culminating in a proper birthday spread on Friday: a beautiful chocolate and cherry cake baked by our own bakery team, plus a visit from our friends at Alfonso Gelateria, serving up ice cream and affogatos for the occasion.
A huge thank you goes out to our bakery team for the treats throughout the week, and to Alfonso Gelateria for braving the (famously unpredictable) weather, and a broken-down truck, to bring the gelato down to Botley.
But the biggest thanks of all goes to our Botley community — not just for celebrating with us, but for popping in day after day for the last five years. And to our Botley Beanies, who run the café so brilliantly and make it the special place it is: we're incredibly proud of you.
