Latte Art Throwdown Raises £2,745 for Nicaraguan Conservation and Education

Funds raised from Missing Bean's Latte Art Throwdown has had a meaningful impact to a coffee farming community in Nicaragua. The money raised, £2,745 in total, has been donated to Reserva El Jaguar, a direct trade partner and private wildlife reserve in Jinotega, Nicaragua.

The funds have supported two initiatives at the reserve: environmental education days for children from a nearby primary school, offering hands-on experiences with the wildlife and ecosystems of the sanctuary; and the ongoing monitoring of bird species across the farm during the months resident birds are present, important work for a site that is home to over 375 species.

Tickets for the event were priced at £10, with raffle tokens available for £5. Since 2021, Missing Bean's Latte Art Competitions have raised over £10,000 in total for community-led projects, with funds directed to wherever they are most needed by direct trade partners.

El Jaguar coffee is available to purchase online and across Missing Bean's Oxford cafés.
