Missing Bean at Belco Primeurs

Missing Bean at Belco Primeurs

We recently had the pleasure of attending Belco Primeurs, the annual two-day event hosted by our green bean suppliers Belco Coffee in France. Joining around 150 roasters from across Europe, we spent two days cupping our way through 120 coffees representing 15 origins, and came away very excited about what's ahead.

The event is a chance for producers, roasters, and the Belco team to come together around their shared passion for specialty coffee. As speciality coffee roasters ourselves, events like this remind us just how vast and varied the world of coffee really is. Alongside the tasting sessions, there were seven conferences led by producers and Belco experts, with conversations ranging from sourcing and traceability to harvest conditions, cup profiles, and the challenges facing the industry.

Belco, who are based across France, Ethiopia, El Salvador, Colombia, and Uganda, have been champions of quality, traceability and transparency in the green coffee trade since 2014. Their annual Primeurs event reflects exactly that ethos, bringing the supply chain closer together and giving roasters a real sense of what's coming from farms and cooperatives around the world.

For us, it's become an unmissable fixture in the calendar. We're already looking forward to sharing some of the exceptional coffees we've selected as freshly roasted coffee beans in our online shop in the months ahead. Watch this space.
