Missing Bean Cheers On Oxford United Run Dept.'s Biggest Turnout Yet

As Headline Partner of United Run Dept., we've watched the Official Oxford United running club grow from its first monthly run into a proper Oxford institution, and this week's event was the biggest yet, with almost 100 runners lacing up together on Tuesday evening.

The special guest of the night was Oxford United's new Head Coach, Aaron Ramsey, who didn't just make an appearance, he laced up and led the 5km himself, officially becoming an honorary member of the URD squad in the process.

United Run Dept. launched in December 2024 as Oxford United's first-ever running club, and we've been Headline Partner since day one, with runs regularly starting and finishing at Missing Bean cafés across the city. This particular run set off from the Club's Training Centre, with regular URD members joining plenty of new faces for the club's classic 5km route, plus the chance to properly meet the man now steering the team. Before setting off, Ramsey took questions on everything from his playing career to settling into life at the Club since joining in June, prepping the squad for the new season, and where he sees things heading.

Eighteen months on from launch, URD now runs monthly events across Oxfordshire, and our partnership has grown right alongside it, from post-run coffee and refreshments to a community space where runners hang around afterwards. This time, the Missing Bean team was on hand with a spread of treats to see everyone through to the finish.

United Run Dept. runs are open to all abilities, and monthly events are free to join. Fancy joining in next time? Head over to URD's WhatsApp community to be first to hear about upcoming runs and events.
