A true Missing Bean classic and an absolute fan favourite, El Calapo has been part of our Direct Trade journey for over eight years. Grown by Santiago Salazar and his family, this washed Castillo delivers everything we love about a comforting Colombian coffee, with notes of milk chocolate, orange zest and crème brûlée.
Our founder, Ori, visited El Calapo in 2019 and immediately knew it was a special place. The farm is completely organic and shade grown, with a real focus on caring for both the land and the people who work it. Each harvest seems to improve on the last, and it's a relationship we're incredibly proud to continue.
Santi and his family keep raising the bar, and it shows — this is the coffee so many of you associate with us, poured as our house espresso in the hoppers across the cafés and enjoyed by regulars every single day.
